Sunken driveway, sidewalk, or patio? You have two real options: lift it with polyurethane foam, or tear it out and pour new concrete. Here's how to decide.
Polyurethane concrete leveling
We drill dime-sized holes, inject expanding foam under the slab, and lift it back to grade. Done in hours. Cured in 15 minutes. Costs roughly 40–60% of replacement.
When leveling is the right call
The slab is structurally sound — no major spider-web cracks, no crumbling edges. Just sunken or tilted.
When replacement makes more sense
The concrete is severely cracked, spalled, or has been patched repeatedly. Thin slabs (under 3") sometimes can't take the lift safely.
Cost comparison in Huntsville
Polyurethane: $3–$8 per sq ft. Replacement: $8–$15 per sq ft, plus removal and downtime. A typical sunken driveway slab is $800–$2,500 to lift vs $3,000–$8,000 to replace.
Longevity
Modern polyurethane foams are waterproof and won't break down. Most lifts hold for 10+ years if the underlying drainage issue that caused the settlement is also addressed.
